Call for donations to Peter I Island DXpedition 2027

The planning of the Peter I DXpedition started in 2023, and now three years later we are just a few months away from the DXpedition start. In 2023 we signed a financial contract that would secure the funding of an expedition to Peter I Island. Together with the large participation fee each operator put into this DXpedition, this is the foundation for the DXpedition. Executing two DXpeditions in short time to Bouvet and Peter I, with a total estimated budget close to $3,7M is a huge undertaking. Such a commitment would not be possible without donations from foundations, clubs and individuals which we are deeply grateful for.

The Peter I team is hereby announcing two major grants from Northern California DX Foundation (NCDXF) and INDEXA. In addition we have listed 11 persons on our webpage www.3y0l.com whom each donated $1,000 to make this expedition a success! This is nothing less than fantastic after we started raising funds one month ago. With significant contract payment milestones coming up each month in October to January we are determined to go to Peter I Island. Some of these months alone we pay around $600,000 to our contractors.

A significant part of the $1,95M Peter I DXpedition budget is the vessel and two helicopters. But we also do have large expenses contracting a professional support team of 4 persons that will assist us. We believe in professional assistance from companies that have executed more than 800+ expeditions to Antarctica, and who also as recently as this year visited Peter I Island. Teaming up with professionals comes with a cost but also higher probability of success. Be rest assured that each dollar donated to this expedition is going directly to downpayment of the vessel and expedition contracts, in addition to glacier equipment. Our budget is structured this way that all the vessel and expedition contractor cost have to be paid upfront, only a very small cost remain after the DXpedition, mainly the shipping cost of the container back home.

We are scheduled to make many presentations for clubs about our Peter I DXpedition, and we would welcome any other invitation that would allow us to share our adventure with you. Should your club want us to make a presentation please contact admin@3y0l.com.

Departure is set to January 22nd 2027. Should you wish to donate and support the adventure please use this donation link https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/GD5V2CJB5DSCG . Any donation are welcomed and appreciated by the Peter I Team. The donation link accepts credit cards, Apple Pay and PayPal
